Sandown Regency Motor Inn & Serviced Apartments

The room was filthy, with blood on the sheets, hair all over, used needles under the bed, bed bugs that kept us from sleeping, and mould throughout. The air conditioner was held together with sticky tape, and we saw cockroaches. A rat even got into our room. This place felt unsafe, especially for children. Staff were extremely rude and unprofessional, and they refused a refund despite all this. I suspect some positive reviews may be from people connected to the motel. I've never had an experience like this anywhere in Australia. The health department should inspect the property immediately. Avoid it.

We were there because of the fires, but I wouldn't recommend staying. My 13 year old wanted a refund before we'd even parked. The carpets and walls were filthy, there was writing on the mirror, a cockroach in the room and a dirty air fryer and pan. There were no plates or cutlery, so we bought our own, though we wouldn't have used theirs anyway. The fly screens were torn and detached, the balcony doors didn't lock, and the toilet brush was on the floor. The spa seemed dodgy, with its switch pushed into the wall. Our key had to be changed because the previous guest took it. Out the back there was rubbish and broken glass. There was no wifi.

Comfortable, tidy room and a nice pool for swimming. Just keep in mind there's no lift to the second floor, so it may be difficult if you have knee pain.

We had a great time at the party. The location is awesome, though if you're planning an event, get organised beforehand since staff may need more precise information. The food could use some attention.
