The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne

Our one wish is that we could have stayed longer. We visited in April, and the whole stay was incredible from the moment we arrived. The team made my best friend’s 40th birthday feel truly special, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. The reservations team were welcoming, the spa team were delightful, and all the hosts looked after us so well. Le in the restaurant was especially lovely and attentive, a real asset to the team. Thanks for such a memorable experience. We can’t wait to come back.

The view is amazing, especially from the pool, and there’s a separate spa for men and women. The hotel is close to all sorts of Melbourne public transport. I was thrilled to get an upgrade, cake and wine from the management, and late checkout was a big plus. Every part felt five star, from the amenities to the friendly, accommodating staff. If you want a luxury stay in Melbourne, try this hotel. It’s worth the money and exceeded my expectations.

The property is stunning, with fantastic views, modern and fairly spacious rooms, and a pretty good breakfast. Service was good too, at the Ritz Carlton standard we’ve come to expect. Two things let the stay down. The spa facilities and pool were great, but I didn’t get a robe or slippers, and there didn’t seem to be a dedicated relaxation area, unless I just wasn’t taken there. Those would normally be standard at a 5* spa. Also, Laura at concierge was lovely, but the team seemed a little incompetent at times. They were meant to sort out tickets through ticketmaster, but only sent the confirmation, not the tickets. We were busy and expected the concierge to handle those details. Instead, we sat outside Melbourne park for 20 minutes waiting for them to send the tickets. Not good at all.

The hotel smelled delicious as soon as we walked through the front doors, and everything was immaculate, from the lobby and our room to the pool and spa. The food and drinks were delicious, breakfast had a wonderful selection and attentive service, and chocolates on the bed at turn-down were a lovely touch. The concierge team warmly greeted us and escorted us to the eighth floor to check in, setting the tone for our stay. Tim, the Manager, deserves a special mention for his leadership and genuine hospitality. The team were professional, well trained and focused on making guests feel welcome and looked after. Every service was delivered with care, and we couldn’t fault a thing. We stayed Saturday night the 6th and Sunday the 7th of December at The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne, and it was one of our best hotel experiences. We’ll be back!
