The Town Apartments

The location made it easy to walk to everything we wanted, and the tram was close and easy to access. The rooms were neat and clean, with a comfy bed. It was above a night club, but they offered ear plugs and we were fine with the noise. There were plenty of spare towels, though one more face washer would have helped. Some larger long-life milks instead of the little plane ones might be nice, but what we got was enough for us. The check-in lady was hard to understand, and it took ten minutes of calling to get an answer. Once we got to the room, the door was a pain to open. The pin code felt cheap, and you had to hold the handle a certain way to get in. That was the only thing that kept this from being five stars. I’d easily stay here again.

This was our second stay at The Town Apartments, and it’s always such a pleasant time. Jaya and her team were so accommodating, including arranging an earlier check-in and later check-out, which was lovely. The place was clean, the beds were comfy, and it was just such a cute time. The location is incredible too. We couldn’t recommend it more, and we’ll only stay at the Town Apartments on future visits to Melbourne!

It was easy to book, and customer service was friendly, professional and straightforward. The location is amazing, with so many city highlights and places within reach. The rooms are old and worn and need updating and a little maintenance, though they were reasonably well presented and had a somewhat modern look. The main bed was extremely comfortable, but I was told the double wasn’t as comfortable. Free ear plugs were provided in the apartment, presumably because of the busy party bar only a few metres from the building. I’d seen it mentioned in other reviews, but honestly, the noise wasn’t as bad as some people make out. We slept without any trouble once we got over being jealous that we couldn’t join the amazing party! 😄

The open bar next door played thumping music every night until 1am, and we couldn’t sleep. The windows had no soundproofing, as stated in the booking. The bedroom blind was broken and wouldn’t go up, and the chair had a huge brown mark on it that looked like poo. Our mattress had only a thin sheet, no mattress protector. When we asked, they said they didn’t have any. They offered to put three extra sheets over the mattress, but never did. Disgusting. We’d never stay again.
