Valley Farm Vineyard Cottages

The quiet here was magical, with birds singing and little fairy wrens hopping around our garden, even coming close to our seats. We enjoyed a relaxing BBQ and red wine on the verandah, watching the sunset over the vineyard and alpacas. The early morning mist and sunsets were lovely, and after a busy day it was a treat to come back and set up the wood heater for the evening. Lyn and John were warm, helpful hosts, and their gorgeous dog greeted us on arrival. Apartment 2 was clean and tidy, with everything for a relaxing stay. There were thoughtful homely touches too, like the bathroom emergency box with things you often forget, including sunscreen, plus a handwritten welcome note and snacks. We walked through the paddocks and followed the chum creek walk, with so much to discover. On the way back we met Lyn and had a lovely chat, though we could easily have talked longer. We saw kangaroos, my first wombat in the wild quietly eating nearby, and heard the kookaburras. Healesville is only 5 minutes away for dinner or tourist activities. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

The cottage was clean and welcoming when we arrived, with snacks, a personal note and a fire already set up and ready to light. That thoughtful touch, along with the hosts’ attentive arrival message and quick replies, made the stay feel personal, something that seems rarer these days. The alpacas were a lovely surprise too. My partner and I rode here from Lilydale, and arriving after the long ride to the vivid autumn colours and vineyard behind the cottage was a real pleasure. It’s a tranquil spot, close to excellent wineries and breweries while still feeling surrounded by nature. For a couple of nights in the area, this is hard to beat.

Hi Lyn and John, we really appreciated how generous and welcoming you were. The drinks, snacks and fruit you supplied went beyond what we expected. The kitchen has everything we needed, and the bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The natural scenery and alpacas were a lovely treat for city dwellers like us. Thank you.

Cottage 3 was almost like a home away from home. We spent two nights there, and it may have been our nicest stay in Australia. My usually fussy mum kept raving about it even after we checked out. The cottage was lovely, with an amazing fireplace, and Greg was very hospitable and shared tips about the area. We enjoyed meeting the alpacas and spotted kangaroos hopping past early one morning. Highly recommend if you want somewhere quiet and comfortable, with Healesville town just minutes away and Yarra Valley about a 15min drive.
