When I struggled with the stairs because of my disability, Amy and Allan carried all our luggage up to our room. On departure morning, another gentleman who works there carried it out to our car. Their help made our holiday possible. A lovely open fire was burning in the lounge when we arrived, which felt very welcoming. Our rooms were cosy and spotless, with all the conveniences we needed, including a microwave, kettle, toaster and hairdryer. I can’t recommend this accommodation highly enough. Thank you so much, Amy and Allan.

If you enjoy older buildings with a bit of history, you’ll fall in love with this place. I absolutely adored the lodge common area, with its older decor and perfect atmosphere. The owner was super accommodating and friendly, and the room was clean and quaint.

The room wasn’t large, but it was very clean, the sheets were soft, and there was a nice deck to sit on. Noise from the next room carried through easily. The lodge area looks cute, though it has a musty old-book smell, and the gardens need attention. Maybe I should work there! Getting the hot and cold water to the right temperature was difficult.

The bed was comfortable, but the place felt very dated. I never saw the owner, and there was nowhere to wash dishes except the bathroom sink. No tea towel was supplied, so we had to buy one ourselves. The shower was either hot enough to burn your bum or ice cold.

The owners really went out of their way for us. One of our girls left her favourite teddy behind, and they paid to mail it back. I first stayed at Warburton lodge with my parents 26 years ago, and this time brought my wife and four daughters so they could enjoy the stay and all that Warburton has to offer. We had a wonderful time. Thank you.
