The beds were comfortable and a good size, and there were plenty of power points. We also had lovely green views and saw some nice wildlife. But this was advertised as a lodge, while what you actually get is a unit downstairs. The kitchenette and fridge are tiny, there’s no dishwasher or bench space, and the half sink is very small. The toilet didn’t flush properly, and the lighting throughout Unit 1, especially in the bathroom, was poor. The garden steps are hazardous, the entry steps are steep, and the driveway is steep and overgrown. The pool didn’t seem to have power for its light or jets, and there was noise at night. The owners live upstairs. For what’s offered, the website is grossly misleading and the price is far too high.

The pool was a real highlight for my sister and me. We had two bedrooms with very comfortable beds and ironed linen, and the accommodation was great. Check-in was easy, and our host made us feel very welcome. We had a great stay at Wildwood and will definitely be back x

We ended up booking here at the last minute because nowhere else was available. The online photos hadn’t impressed me, especially with so many lovely-looking cottages around, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. It turned out much nicer than the pictures: a couple had made two spacious suites on the bottom floor of their three-storey home. Ours had two bedrooms, including a king-sized bed, a little kitchen area, a gas fireplace and a lovely view in the morning. They left us breakfast in adorable little jars, and the gentleman we spoke with was very kind. You can tell they put a lot of care into this little B&B. With only two places, it was quiet and relaxing. Cute, simple, clean, intimate and very affordable. We couldn’t have asked for a better night, especially since my fiancé proposed the next day. We’ll book again for our wedding night in May.

The balcony had a fantastic view, and the heating kept the lodge warm through the July winter. Our family of eight had beds to sleep in, and the hampers had plenty of breakfast food, plus tea and coffee. There was also a big bottle of milk and juice in the fridge. I’d highly recommend Wildwood Lodge.

It’s a short walk from the train station and close to Belgrave CBD, which was handy since we don’t drive. The owners were lovely and the surroundings were great. Our stay at Wildwood Lodge was really relaxing. I’d recommend it.
