Meningie's Waterfront Motel

We found it comfortable, though the place felt tired and very basic, and could do with a revamp. It was okay for a couple of nights. There was no dining area or meals as advertised, and the room had no cooking facilities. Instead, there was a shared space with tables, chairs, a toaster and microwave, but unfortunately both appliances were grubby.

We loved the town and the attractions nearby. It’s a wonderful part of Australia. The place was spotless, though the rooms were very small and could do with an upgrade. We stayed four nights with eight friends, and Marie and John-Paul made us feel at home. They’d only been there a few days, but were welcoming and accommodating, which made the stay enjoyable.

The host was friendly and efficient, and we’d happily stay again. For one night, the compact room was just right and had everything we needed, especially lovely linen and thick towels. Great value.

The lake view was great and the room was clean, but it was very small and musty and needed airing out. I had a better experience when Lisa ran the place. She was welcoming and friendly, and it had a different atmosphere then. The next door room was noisy too. After being on the road for a long time, I got to town at 5.30 and couldn’t find a fed. I just wanted a fed and a bed, not a debate at the front desk. I wasn’t happy with the service, so why should I pay more for a family room? You can’t even get a meal. You advertise as a golden chain motel, but you’re not. At least cover up the sign for people.
