The pool and tennis court gave us a nice way to fill a few mornings and evenings, and having two restaurants on site made dinner easy. There’s no breakfast at the resort, but a nearby cafe has great food and lovely views over the lake. Our room was huge and nicely decorated, and the setting right beside the lake was quiet. We had a lovely two-night stay and would absolutely recommend it.

The dumpling restaurant was really good, and seeing kangaroos around in the evenings was amazing. The pool was good too. Our room in the main house was very large, with a view over the pool and restaurant, though it felt strange that anyone could look in. The interior was old-fashioned but okay. The property was large, but not especially well kept. The staff weren't very caring, and the stay wasn't what I expected.

We only stopped for one night while travelling through, and the heavy rain meant we couldn't explore the lakes as we'd hoped. Still, we loved the place. It has the charm of a beautiful Victorian guest house, and we enjoyed seeing the local wildlife. Check-in was easy and stress-free. Our room was surprisingly spacious, clean, and comfortable. We wish we'd had longer and would definitely recommend it.

There's a jetty onto the lake and a good swimming spot for guests, though I saw no sign of kayaks available to borrow. The Asian restaurant is impressive. The property is 2 km above Merimbula, reached by a 1.2 km driveway. A large sign says non-guests can't access the lake.

The morning swim was great, with a pool big enough to enjoy, and Room 5 was well serviced. We were just stopping briefly on the drive from Adelaide to Sydney, but it was a really relaxing break. The location is perfect, and the views in the evening and morning were beautiful. Lovely to wander around, and I'd recommend watching sunset from the jetty. The wildlife was amazing, especially the birds, and we were glad to see a few kangaroos too. We'd come back.
