Sorrento Apartments Merimbula

The noise from the second floor units was extremely annoying. When we arrived at 4.30 pm, the bathroom and bedroom tile floors were wet, and Unit 4 had an overpowering, unusual smell that was still there two days later. We unpacked food into the fridge, but by the next morning the butter, soy milk, boiled eggs, cheese and bananas were all frozen solid and had to be thrown away. We’re an elderly couple and hadn’t been warned there was no lift, so carrying heavy luggage up two flights of stairs from the underground carpark was difficult.

Room 8 was very clean and well equipped during our Easter break stay. The property is lovely, close to the town centre and just a five minute drive from the beach. I’d definitely recommend Sorrento apartments.

We spent five nights in room 7 in February, and the little frustrations added up when we were paying over $200 a night. The bedside clock alarm wouldn’t switch off, the lounge clock didn’t work, and there was no ice cube tray in the freezer. The lounge had a two seater suite without an ottoman, unlike the other apartments, so we couldn’t stretch out comfortably. The stove could do with a modern replacement. The apartment was clean except for a dead huntsman on the outside flyscreen and a very dirty ensuite exhaust fan. There was also a gap under the sliding screen door in the lounge that could let all sorts of bugs in.

We had a wonderful three day stay in June 2017 and would happily come back and recommend it to friends. Everything else was within walking distance, with a great restaurant across the road. The apartment was excellent, and Managers Neale & Katherine were very helpful with our WiFi and heating questions. The one issue was the entrance: the gutter is a bit low, and the car scrapes underneath each time you enter or leave. It’s best to enter from the far right and exit from the far left. A little concrete or some kind of bar could fix it.
