The person who cleaned and maintained the cabins was the highlight of our stay. She had an Irish accent and was absolutely delightful, friendly and helpful. She sorted out towels for us and was genuinely accommodating. We didn’t get that same helpfulness from reception or management, who were generally unhelpful. We asked if we could be placed closer to friends staying in the park so the children could play together. We were told there was no way to do it, even though cabins right next to our friends looked available for almost all of our four-day stay. Before arrival, road closures delayed our drive from Victoria into New South Wales. When we called reception, the staff member was rude and unaccommodating. Keys were left out for our late arrival, but the phone interaction still left a poor impression. We were also first given a cabin for four, though we’d booked and paid for one sleeping five. The manager did fix that and moved us to the correct cabin. We stayed four nights as a family of five in a two-bedroom Hideaway cabin. It was extremely small, even for a cabin. The floors were wet and still very dirty when we arrived, and several pairs of socks had to be thrown away after we walked around. That felt unhygienic from the start. The bunk beds were old, and the rusty fridge didn’t feel clean enough to store food in. Wi-Fi kept dropping out despite us having a code. It rained much of the time, there wasn’t much to do in the park, and we ended up using most of our mobile data in the first two days. The indoor pool was advertised as heated but was quite cold. The spa was almost as cold as the pool, nowhere near spa temperature, so it wasn’t comfortable to use. The park feels old and tired, with little for children to do. On top of the high price for a family of five, we had to pay extra to use the games room, including for air hockey. That felt unreasonable with the current cost of living. Better cleaning, service and flexibility would have made a big difference. I can’t recommend it to families looking for value, basic cleanliness and supportive service.

Both the pool and spa were cold, despite being told at check-in that they were heated to 29 degrees and 32 degrees. We’d booked this Polynesian cabin largely for those facilities, since they were something to do in the rain, and it was a letdown after paying over $400 a night. The spa was green on our first day, though it was better the next. Light from other cabins came through the curtains, so we put a blanket over the rail to make it darker for sleeping. We were here for two nights as a stopover on our East Coast trip. It was pouring when we called to ask whether the room might be ready early, and the woman on the phone was terribly rude. She said she’d call when it was ready but never did. We went somewhere for lunch to pass the time, then arrived 45 minutes after check-in. When we asked if the cabin was ready, she said, ‘I don’t think so, oh wait it is.’ The floors were still soaking wet from mopping when we got there. I wouldn’t pay this much to stay again.

The camp kitchen was well equipped, and there’s plenty for children to do at this nice campground, including a heated indoor pool. We stayed one night on an ensuite site. The bathroom was modern, but it wasn’t very clean when we arrived, and towels in the ensuite would be a welcome addition. Staff should pay closer attention to cleaning before guests check in. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the city center.

Our powered site on the southern side was nice and quiet, and the location is handy for town and shops while still being far enough away to stay peaceful. Some things weren’t working during our visit, including the hand dryers in the amenities and the boiling water in the kitchen, but we still had a good stay.

We spent one night on an ensuite site. There were lots of birds around, and plenty they’d left behind. It wasn’t busy, so it seemed like a good chance to get the place cleaned up. The indoor pool was lovely but could do with a clean too. The ensuite looked nearly new, unfortunately it wasn’t clean. There’s a lot of potential here, but the place needs better upkeep.
