Delatite Apartments Merrijig

In Pine Room 1, the room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. But the heater wasn’t up to much, so we watched TV in our snow jackets, and the electric blanket didn’t work either. The walls are very thin; we could hear our neighbours using the toilet.

A very disappointing stay. There were dirty dishes, dust everywhere, and complimentary chocolates that were past their date. Shampoo had been left on the bed in direct sun, where it leaked onto the towels and sheets, and had hardened by the time we arrived. We also had to remove several spider webs and eggs from the balcony door and killed multiple spiders. With small kids, finding the place like that felt awful. Luckily, our kids got sick and we had to check out early, so we didn’t have to spend another night wondering if we’d be bitten. Think twice before booking. The only positive I can mention is that Jane, the property manager, was easy to deal with.

The room was clean, but our stay in the Fir Section from 26-28th Jan 2018 was extremely disappointing. The air conditioner barely helped. It blew against a low bulkhead, so cold air didn’t reach the sleeping area, and we sweltered through hot days and uncomfortable nights despite leaving it on all day. Several basics were missing: there was no bath mat or hand towel, and no tea towel. The dishwashing basin could only be filled by turning on the shower. The bathroom handle also needs repair, with screws missing. Outside, the paths were uneven and gravel was loose. The steps to our room were very dark at night, with path lights obscured by trees and bushes. More lighting or trimming is needed. The place gave a generally unloved, uncared-for impression, and the value for money just wasn’t there.

A fantastic apartment with a beautiful view and a very comfy bed. It had everything we needed, except the air conditioning couldn’t cope with a very hot day. I was glad I’d brought a fan.
