Commodore Motel Mildura

The location is handy, with the CBD and river both an easy walk away, and it could work for a night or two. For my ten-night stay, though, housekeeping was a letdown: they made the bed and swapped the towels, but the sheets weren't changed and the room was left dusty. The reception also closes sometime between 5 PM and 7 PM, depending on the day, which isn't very convenient. The Commodore Hotel Mildura felt more like a basic motel with little beyond standard housekeeping, and the poor upkeep and limited service made the stay forgettable. I wouldn't choose it for a longer visit.

The spa was fantastic, and the pool was lovely too. I also appreciated the complimentary items. I would have given the stay five stars if the king size mattress hadn't sagged so much.

I was very unhappy with what we got for the price. The room had no microwave or other appliances, and there wasn't any dishwashing gear. There was a coffee pod machine, but no way to heat milk. The place allows smoking, so I could smell cigarettes every time I left my room. Reception was meant to be open until 5pm, yet at 4.45pm it was already locked up and empty. The pool was also locked when I went for a quick swim at 7.30pm, despite being advertised as open until 8pm. And although the room was listed as having a balcony, none of the rooms have one.

I barely slept with the constant traffic and trucks from the Sturt Hwy side of the complex. The bedroom window was double glazed, but it made no difference. The noise went on past midnight and was unbearable. I won't stay here again.
