Kar-Rama Motor Inn

The room stayed spotless every day, thanks to housekeeping, and all the staff were lovely. Alex especially was phenomenal and went out of their way to help us. We had a great stay and would come back. The lobby worked well for remote work or studying, and it was a nice quiet place to sit. The pool was clean and relaxing, the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and breakfast for two was much cheaper than nearby cafes and restaurants. The location is close to everything, so we didn't need a car. A couple of things could be better: the hotel isn't fully wheelchair accessible, and some areas are hard to reach. Also, items in the closet melted because of heat from the machine placed there.

The staff went out of their way to handle my requests and make the stay comfortable. I was there for one night and could easily have stayed longer. Everything is walkable, with the motel close to town and shops. It had the feel of a 4-5 star stay without the price, and you can see the care in the small details. Recently renovated, the place feels fresh and modern. The bed was very comfortable, the pool was great, and the room came with free snacks and drinks, a coffee pod machine, a good quality hair dryer and a big TV. Exceeded my expectations by a long way. I'd absolutely stay again and highly recommend it. Honestly, if you stay anywhere else in Mildura, you're missing out.

The service took some shine off an otherwise attractive stay. When we arrived, there was hardly any welcome. We were handed the keys and told to park in the rear laneway, so the advertised secure on-site parking wasn't available. Nobody explained the amenities or mentioned the welcome drink. Then at about 9:45 the next morning, reception knocked to ask whether we were checking out soon, even though checkout was at 10. Maybe it was meant as a courtesy, but it felt like we were being hurried along or couldn't be trusted to leave on time. As we carried our last bags out, two service staff were sitting on the ground between guests' cars on their smoko break. I understand staff need breaks and are entitled to smoke, but that didn't seem like the best spot. My wife and I stayed on 27th December 2025. The place has a great Palm Springs vibe, and the beautiful pool area shows that a lot of money has gone into it. Our room was clean and really nice, with a comfy bed, modern facilities, a screen TV and complimentary minibar. It wasn't a bad stay, but we didn't feel very welcome given the look and feel of the place.

I was only passing through, but now I'm trying to think of reasons to come back to Mildura. The motel has been beautifully updated and still has that traditional road trip feel, just taken up a notch. Comfortable and easy, with lovely care and service. Best time in Mildura, and a bit nostalgic too.
