Best Western Plus Madison Spa Resort

We loved having parking right outside our room, and the new management team were relaxed and attentive. The in-room spa was great, as was the hot, relaxing spa in the 'roman bathhouse'. Our room and the facilities are a little dated for the price, but we still think it’s worth a visit. Floor-to-ceiling windows looked out over the bushland, and we were lucky enough to spot a Kangaroo grazing just outside. We’re looking forward to coming back when the Restaurant Re opens. We’ll definitely return.

The location is convenient, and the resort idea is appealing, but the condition of the facilities and the service at checkout made the price hard to justify. When we raised our concerns, there was little acknowledgment and no apparent attempt to put things right, even though several facilities couldn’t be used or fell short of expectations. We’d hoped for a relaxing weekend and genuinely wanted to love the stay. We wouldn’t return in its current condition. I’m keen to get home to my own bed, bath and a simple Garnier sheet mask! 😅 The largest issue was the in-room spa bath. We ran the jets with hot water and body wash before using it, and black debris came out. We decided not to use it. We’d also planned to try the Roman Bath House and sauna, but changed our minds after seeing them. The sauna looked much smaller and more basic than we expected, while the bath house seemed tired and in need of refurbishment. I can imagine they were lovely when newly built. We couldn’t settle in with a movie either. The television appeared damaged, and the internet was too slow to stream, including on our own laptop. The room felt musty and cold when we arrived, and there was hair and a piece of rubbish on the floor. Those things may sound minor on their own, but together they left us feeling cleanliness and maintenance weren’t being watched closely. We did appreciate the message before arrival saying the restaurant would be closed and no day spa treatments were available on Saturday, since it let us make other plans. The large windows had a nice view, and we liked being able to open the sliding glass door for fresh air. We don’t mind accommodation with character or older interiors if it’s clean, functional, and priced in line with what’s offered. While looking around the main building, we visited the day spa area. We weren’t waiting for service or expecting an instant consultation, but nobody greeted or acknowledged us or asked if we needed help. It made us feel unwelcome and put us off asking about treatments. With the cleanliness affecting our confidence in using the facilities, and basic things like the television and internet not working adequately, the resort positioning and price were difficult to understand.

I’ve loved visiting Echuca since I was a kid, and this time my friends and I had a great time at Madison Day Spa. From the moment you walk in, the place feels peaceful, relaxing and luxurious. The staff were so lovely and made us feel comfortable and looked after. The treatments felt high quality, and it was clear they cared about the experience. I left feeling refreshed, glowing and completely relaxed. One of the best spa experiences I’ve had. If you’re thinking about a self-care day, do it here. Whether you want a massage, facial or just a reset, it’s a beautiful hidden gem and worth every dollar. Already planning another visit ✨

The Beauty Therapist Chantelle was amazing, clearly very experienced, and our treatments were divine and reasonably priced. The day spa itself was the best part of our girls trip, which we’d booked specifically as a spa and accommodation combo. The room was clean, and the man who brought fresh towels was kind. But there were no cups or spoons to use with the kettle and coffee, so we had to go to reception for them. They were dusty and needed washing before we could use them. The receptionist was grumpy and seemed to snigger when we asked questions. She made me feel like she didn’t want me there. The pool had a build-up of algae, and all the windows were filthy with ingrained dirt. The spa didn’t work, and the sauna was dirty and smelled quite bad. The place needs work and a good clean throughout. A friendlier receptionist would help too.
