The bed was super comfortable, and the shower, toilet and basin were all clean and new. The people who checked us in were lovely and stayed late, which we really appreciated. The room itself was a mixed bag. The kitchen bench looked like a bathroom, and there was what my partner called a peep hole. I’m guessing it’s a server slot between outside and inside the room. If it could be locked from the inside, we’d have felt more private and secure. The fridge wasn’t very cold, and the TV didn’t work properly. It was mounted above your head, and reception came through for a minute before dropping out. We ended up watching whatever we could in short bursts when the signal returned. Very frustrating.

The reception staff were lovely, and the rooms were modern, clean and tidy. It was really hot when we arrived, but they’d already cooled the room down for us. Such a thoughtful touch. Would highly recommend.

I’ve tried most of the budget accommodation around here, and this is the only one that’s ticked every box for me. The bed’s comfortable, it’s low cost, and there’s cutlery and utensils. Inside is new and modern, with Wi-Fi and a big TV that has streaming. Most of the other places I’ve tried are missing at least one of those things. There’s no pool, but I knew that when I booked. I’ll stay here on all my future work trips.
