That pizza on our last night was awful. The base seemed like it came from a frozen packet, cardboard-like, and the dry slabs of chicken had no sauce to help them go down. We left two thirds in the bin. I understand a small kitchen has limits, but if you can’t make a decent pizza, don’t bother. It put a bad taste in our mouths about an otherwise really enjoyable stay, pun intended. Before that, we’d had drinks and a snack at the Monkey Bar while watching another fabulous sunset and dolphins playing along the shore. We went back the next night for pizza and yet another superb sunset. Earlier, our anniversary dinner at Boughshed was beautiful. My wife’s fish was cooked just right, and my fish curry was full of seafood, I nearly licked the bowl. We’d chatted with the staff the day before and got a great seat for one of those amazing sunsets. We stayed three nights. Reception was spacious, fresh and clean, and the staff welcomed us warmly. The gift shop had plenty in it, and we picked up a few souvenirs. The amenities were clean and new, and the camp kitchen looked well equipped.

The grassy unpowered site suited us perfectly in our campervan, and our dog could chill on the cool grass. We spent a great time on the beach after hiring paddleboards, then watched a spectacular sunset. The location is gorgeous, and the morning dolphin presentation was educational too. We saw six dolphins and learned about them and the region. The amenities were great, with laundry and clotheslines, plus hot showers with good pressure. We’ll definitely come back, highly recommend!

The best part is how much wildlife you can see. Emus roam freely and dolphins come up by the shore, around 0700 near the jetty. You can watch without paying for the dolphin experience by staying outside the roped area, like everyone else. You just watch the dolphins, you don’t feed them. The beach is great for a night walk and stargazing, though the sea shore comes alive after dark, so be careful. The sand and shells can be hard to walk on barefoot in some spots. We were in a caravan, so I can’t say much about the rooms. It was $72 for the night. The toilets and showers were clean. There are several BBQs and kitchens, but bring your own pans and utensils. There’s laundry too. The pub and restaurant at night were both good and reasonably priced.

The location is beautiful, and the shared spaces are as comfortable and well equipped as the rooms. The rooms are always perfectly clean. I come up with a tour group every few weeks and often get help from Georgia, who’s so friendly and helpful. The staff here are the best!
