Those hot croissants left on the doorstep each morning were the best. We also ordered a dinner hamper, which Andrea brought in, and enjoyed it on the BBQ. Shell was genuine and efficient, and from the time we booked, she made everything easy. The gardens are immaculate, with lake views and your own private sanctuary. Exactly what we needed, thanks so much.

We hardly wanted to leave the Savoy cottage, though the village is only a short drive away. On a rainy summer afternoon, the fireplace made the comfortable cottage even cosier. The furniture and linens were quality, and while some high windows have no blinds and let in early light, they bring the outdoors in and make the cottages special. Bring a sleep mask if you like sleeping late. Shell's homemade bread, jams and yoghurt were part of the generous, high quality breakfast supplies, alongside locally sourced items. Warm croissants arrived at the door each morning, leaving plenty for a relaxed BBQ brunch with eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomato and toast. We also ordered a dinner hamper for one night, which was generous and delicious, including homemade chocolate lava cake. Maleny chocolates and a decanter of port were a nice extra in the evenings. The hosts made us feel like valued guests in their home while still giving us complete privacy. We spent three nights there and are already looking forward to returning.

Getting up at dawn is worth it for the mist over the lake and the chorus of birds. The rainforest views and sounds were breathtaking during our two nights in the Gatsby cottage. The bed was super comfortable, and the cottage had everything we needed for a luxurious stay. Breakfast was excellent and fully provided, and we appreciated the personal touches. The lake and walking trails are both a five-minute drive away. Highly recommend it.

Watching the mist slowly lift from over the lake in the morning was mesmerising, and the sunsets were stunning too. I stayed in the Charleston cottage, which was beautifully appointed and wonderfully private. What a lovely stay. I'll be back!
