Windward Apartments

The beachside position and lovely view were a real highlight, but the apartment felt worn and needed some attention. The lounge needed a proper clean, and both the kitchen and bathrooms were dated and due for an update. Even the small things, like a used old dishwashing brush and a broken remote in the main bedroom, made it feel neglected. A bit more upkeep could make this a real gem. I hope the owners take the feedback on board.

There was plenty of room for six of us in the three-bedroom apartment on the seventh floor, and the views were excellent. The kitchen had everything we needed to cater for ourselves. Check-in was easy, parking felt secure, and we could walk to the supermarket, beach, and local cafes.

Unit 1 was a roomy, comfortable two-bedroom split-level apartment, though it felt dated and a bit rough around the edges. It's an older building, maybe from the 1970s or 80s. The kitchen had basic cooking gear, nothing fancy. A microwave would have helped, and one tea towel wasn't enough. We got four bath towels for four people for four nights and were told to wash them in our laundry if we wanted more. They did eventually bring extra towels when we wanted to swim. The pool and outdoor area were lovely, but we were driven out by the noise and spray from someone cleaning the building with a water blaster. The location is lovely, right by the beachfront, and close to plenty of amenities, including a supermarket and umpteen cafes and restaurants. Staff were friendly and did their best to help. But the road is very busy, with a lot of traffic and boy racers tearing along at all hours. It felt a bit like living beside a motorway. The stay was still pretty pleasant, but it's not the place for a peaceful getaway in modern, well-equipped accommodation.

We were really pleased with the apartment. It was clean and very nice, with a beautiful sea view, and close to everything. This will be our Mooloolabah place to stay from now on when we visit.
