Moonta Bay Motel

The staff are great, as always. I also had good TV reception and the air conditioner worked really well. The rooms are clean and basic, though a bit dated, with a small microwave and bar fridge. I wished there were an extra blanket. My main gripe was parking: there’s a spot for the car, but no access to park right outside the room. A shortcut out of the park would’ve saved us walking back around reception. More exercise is always good, though.

The room had plenty of space, and the motel sits right in the town centre, close to the pub's restaurant.

I’ve been coming here for over 30 years. The rooms have been updated and are well equipped with a microwave, toaster, crockery and cutlery, and the staff are friendly. The difficult part is unloading the car: you can’t park in front of the ground floor rooms facing the sea. There also isn’t a way through for an ambulance to reach those rooms. The staff know about it now, so hopefully it’ll be addressed.

It was easy to walk to the jetty and beach from this clean, comfortable motel, which felt about right for a good budget stay. The staff were thoughtful and made my after-hours check-in a breeze. I was disappointed the patio restaurant seemed to be closed for renovations. It would’ve had a great view.
