The meal at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the owner-manager even fixed my broken cat carrier. They also welcomed my cats, which I appreciated in a pet-friendly motel. My room was very clean and had everything I needed.

The pool was very dirty, and the bathroom smelled of poo and seemed not to have been cleaned properly. There were two lizards in the room, with their poo on the bedside locker. We were charged $140 for one night, which felt like far too much for such a rough, unclean room. We arrived in a van that was too tall for the electric gate, which allows access around the clock, but were told there'd be no key on site until 7am. What if an ambulance or fire brigade needed to get into the rooms or courtyard overnight? We couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. I emailed about our stay and got no follow-up. Customer service like this feels completely unacceptable in 2026, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The restaurant food was probably the best in Moree. The rooms were tidy, the motel was quite good, and reception staff were amazing, really friendly.

The Queen Bed Deluxe room was quiet, spotless and comfortable, with a great bed and pillows, strong shower pressure, everything we needed, and free WiFi. Parking right outside was handy too. Check-in and check-out were easy, and every staff member we met was welcoming. The restaurant was the highlight. It felt like proper home-style cooking, full of flavour and cooked just right. I ate so much because it was that good, and I haven't felt so satisfied after a meal since childhood. Calling it incredible almost doesn't cover it. You could hear laughter from the kitchen, and the service was spot on, with plates cleared quickly and drinks topped up without asking. I loved the comfy swivel chairs too, they made the place feel fun. If it were in Brisbane, I'd go every week. We couldn't be happier with our stay at Burke & Wills in Moree, and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting.
