BIG4 Moruya Heads Easts Dolphin Beach Holiday Park

We found the campground peaceful and relaxing, with no noisy cockatoos like the thousands at Cowra Van Park. It’s clearly popular with nomads and caravans: every day more caravans arrived, with hardly anyone leaving. There were plenty of cabins available in the off season from February 2026, and this is our favourite park for cabins. The camp kitchen is a good size and the BBQs were extremely clean. The fridge, though, is tiny. It only fits two shopping bags and a few loose items, which doesn’t seem enough for the number of guests. A large two-door fridge like the one at Discovery park in Emerald Beach on the mid north coast would be better. Our favourite park for caravans and cabins was Atherton Holiday park, in the beautiful Table Lands west of Innisfail and Cairns. There was so much to do and see there, and all the beds were made.

The spa was the highlight of our trip, and the pool looked amazing. We could easily walk across the road to the beach. Shops are in Moruya, though the office sells essential goods. We appreciated that the dog area was kept separate from the no-dog area, something every caravan park should do. Our area was quiet because there were hardly any caravans. The amenities were clean with so little use, but I can’t say how well they were cleaned overall during our visit. The laundry was very good, with working washers and dryers, and the showers had lovely hot water and pressure. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay.

The beach is spectacular, and the pool and kids’ play area were open. The cabins look great too. It’s a decent park, but being out of town across the road from the beach makes it feel a bit isolated. All provisions have to come from town, as there aren’t any corner shops here.

I stayed with my dog in the unpowered area, and it was amazing seeing kangaroos so close in the park. I believe the “poo” mentioned in the last review was roo poo, not dog poo. It’s great to find a dog-friendly park so close to a national park, and the dog beach is just a two-minute drive or a 5-10-minute walk away. This gem in a beautiful location is likely to be full on any holiday. The ablutions were well maintained, the staff were friendly, and the park was lovely all round. It’s a 10-minute drive to the main town and five minutes to the boat ramp.
