The Olive Tree Motel

Olive tree has set the bar high for service and cleanliness, and the nearby motels need to pick up their game. The receptionist was warm, friendly and welcoming. The rooms were so clean and had a pleasant fragrance, just as the photos show. The king size bed was comfortable and the TV was large. Breakfast was complimentary too. Well done Olive tree, keep up the outstanding service.

If you’re after a cheap stay, this place fits the bill, though I’ve stayed at others in the area that I’d personally go back to, even if they cost more. The beds were comfortable, the location decent and the price very good, but the rooms aren’t soundproof at all. Noisy guests in a nearby room talked extremely loudly for hours past midnight and kept me awake. The rooms are also a little run down, with a broken light switch and damaged timber on the window frame, though the linen, bedding and towels were clean and seemed new enough. Breakfast is included, but I’d go early. I arrived about halfway through and the yoghurt and fruit were almost gone. I managed to put a bowl together from what was left, but there were no spoons. I’m sure staff would have got me one if I’d asked, but there weren’t many guests around, so there should’ve been enough spoons and food without needing to ask.

The staff were thoughtful enough to put the heater on before we got back, and the personal touches really showed how considerate this motel is. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had a comfy bed. The location is great, right by the railway station. We’d come from up north, and the excellent breakfast was another highlight. I’d highly recommend it to anyone staying nearby. We’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast was lovely, with a wide range of products, and the room was clean without the usual overpowering deodorisers. The bed was very comfortable and the service excellent, all at good value for money. The water was so hot it was almost boiling, so be careful to run the shower before getting in. I’ll definitely stay here again.
