Cedar Lodge Motel Morwell

I’ve had a great extended stay here. The rooms are consistently clean and secure, and easy to warm up on cold nights. It’s well located, within a short walk of several major Morwell sites. John and Jane always make me feel welcome, and I’ve enjoyed dinners from the restaurant on several occasions.

The rooms look a little dated, but that suits the charm of this old town. They were warm, clean, safe, and had everything I needed. I stayed for two weeks on a work trip, and the staff were incredible. I could’ve stayed anywhere, and even parked my GTR supercar in the car park. I’d happily stay here again on my next business trip to Morwell. Thanks to the team at Cedar Lodge for looking after me.

We booked several nights but only made it through one. The room was dark and dank, and the smell was awful. There were full cockroach baits everywhere, and the awful deodorisers didn’t help. We told reception about the problems, but nothing came of it.

After a four-hour drive, we found out our December 2024 booking hadn’t been entered properly. We’d reserved three rooms for three nights each in late January 2025 and were told we could choose any of the rooms for the weekend. Room 14 absolutely stank of damp and urine. They’d sprayed so much room spray, but it didn’t cover the smell. Nobody apologized or offered a discount, and the man at reception was hostile and extremely aggressive. There are plenty of better places in Morwell, but it’s your choice. Just be aware.
