Abom Hotel

The pizzas were good, but lunch on Sunday with friends was a letdown. The cafeteria setup and selection seemed better when food was fresh instead of boxed. Ordering was unpleasant in both areas: the women taking food orders barely greeted us, sounded flat and came across as rude. The drink order was much the same. It was a snow day and the customers were happy to be there. The staff could have been too.

The food was a little better than the service, which says a lot. They impose a 45-minute table limit and told us to leave when we had our own snacks at the table, even though we'd bought food there. It felt like they just wanted our money, that's all. Avoid this restaurant. If you want to enjoy a meal, try somewhere else further up or down the hill.

It was warm and cosy inside, with lots of nice details, and the food looked good at other tables. Sadly, we didn't get to try it: the kitchen had closed early because of too many orders or something. After a long day snowboarding, we came in and had to find our own seats, with no welcome. The woman at the bar was unfriendly, maybe stressed because the place was packed. I might have rated it better if we'd eaten.

Not worth the price, and we won't stay here again. There was only one spare blanket for four beds. The doonas were stained, and the pillows were worn, with a couple of them lumpy. Overnight, moisture appeared on the walls where we and the kids slept, and a ridiculous draught came through the windows by those beds. The TV wasn't working because of a weather issue.
