The location was excellent, just a 1-2 minute walk to the slopes and around 5-10 minutes to the village depending on your pace. We were very impressed with our two nights at Kandahar Ski Lodge. It was spotless and well maintained, and the shared areas were cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Hosts Matt and Kaylene were lovely and welcoming. We'd definitely stay at Kandahar again!

It felt like staying in an asylum, and the place is hugely overpriced for what you get. For that daily rate, there were no facilities worth mentioning. The shared bathrooms and toilets had no toilet paper or hand soap. The kitchen was dirty, tiny and looked about 30 years old. The rooms were also small and dirty, with bunk beds, despite the price being like a five-star hotel. A complete waste of money. Never going back.

The lodge hostess was welcoming and courteous, and we enjoyed our two nights during ski season. The shared kitchen and lounge were great, with room to store your supplies. Our bedroom was a little cramped, with double bunks on either side to sleep five. It’s in a great spot, about 80 metres off Bourke St just below the Alberg Hotel, though it’s a bit of a walk uphill from the Grocers.

The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and we’d definitely choose Kandahar Ski Lodge again. The standout for us was the spacious, well-organised shared dining, kitchen and lounge area, with a large modular sofa facing an open fireplace. It’s a clean place with all the features you need for a stay on the mountain.
