We loved having the guest-only cafe room for happy hour. It felt intimate and relaxed, where we could nibble, have wine, and chat with our hosts and another guest. Breakfast was another highlight. Anne and Sean were a delight, and our lovely room was spotless. Stone and straw is just minutes from Hepburn Springs and Daylesford, yet the property feels tucked away in quiet bushland, with birds among the pretty gardens. Beautiful and peaceful, highly recommended.

The heated bathroom floors were a nice touch, and the room had everything we needed, including split system heating and air-conditioning. It was a good size, too. The staff were amazing: they showed us around and had the fire going when we arrived. Such a relaxing spot for a romantic getaway. We'd highly recommend staying here, and we'll definitely be back.

We were so glad to share our small family Christmas gathering with three families at this quiet, secluded place. The hosts were a humble, helpful, lovely couple who went out of their way to accommodate everyone. Beautiful little spot, and it was an absolute pleasure to spend the day there. 4/5 all round. 😍 Thank you both, you outdid yourselves 😊😊😊

The gardens and facilities are well kept, with artwork dotted among the local plants. There’s also a walking track to the local Chocolate Mill, and it’s a short drive into town for the range of baths and spas. Anne and Sean are lovely hosts who made the stay more memorable. A cosy, homely little bnb. We’ll look to Stone & Straw again when we visit the region.

Sean and Anne were welcoming and happy to help with any questions or requests. They went above and beyond to make our stay easy and enjoyable. The cosy snugs, warm fireplaces, and babysitting service if needed make this a lovely break from the daily grind, whether for a small family or a romantic getaway. If I could give it six stars, I would. One thing to keep in mind: the entrance to the retreat can sneak up on you, so I’d suggest arriving in daylight.
