The guesthouse felt so cosy, with beautiful Christmas decorations, and the breakfast was great. We came for a bit of R&R in the Blue Mountains after a work trip to Sydney. Our beds were warm and comfy, with electric blankets. We weren’t sure what to expect from dinner, but it was five stars, and the staff were lovely and friendly. Lorna was fantastic when an accident left us stuck in traffic, and arranged dinner for us in the dining room when we arrived. A hidden gem, and we all agreed we’d book again on our next trips to the Blue Mountains.

The photos online don’t quite show how lovely the Victoria & Albert Guesthouse is in person, so updating them would be my only suggestion. I booked it for visitors from Germany, and the stay was fantastic. Lona at reception was so friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and really set the tone. The place has plenty of charm and character, with a thoughtful renovation and decor. It feels warm and nostalgic in a way modern hotels don’t, while still being fresh and comfortable.

The garden is amazing, and having lounge rooms where we could sit with friends was a real bonus. We stayed for a few days this time, after visits for a function and dinner with friends, and the restaurant food is superb. The staff are wonderful and clearly enjoy their work. They’ve done substantial, quality renovations while keeping the guesthouse’s historic feel. It’s a friendly place, and I’m looking forward to our next visit.

My sister and I came across this amazing hotel by accident on holiday and stopped for coffee and cake. Both were fantastic. The decor was the real knockout, all old world class and glamour. I especially enjoyed the old style music playing in the background, and the young girl playing piano beautifully in the piano room.

It was fun having a drink in a different room and taking in the beautiful space. We had another warm, elegant stay at the Guesthouse, and the restaurant was delicious with attentive service. David
