The farm tour and wool shed visit gave us a fascinating look at what it takes to run a large sheep farm. Karen and Steven were welcoming, and their three working dogs helped make us feel at home. We spent five enjoyable nights in the historic tobacco kiln, which was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed. The views of Mt Sturgeon in the Grampians were lovely. We’d happily stay again when we’re in the area.

Even though I was there for work, the beautiful setting made the trip feel like a holiday. The accommodation was comfortable and very well set up. I’d be glad to stay again on a future work trip or a personal one. Thank you!

Karen made us feel very welcome and was happy to answer all our questions, even the naive ones. We got a little history of the property when we arrived, and there was some of her homemade strawberry wine waiting for us. Staying overnight on a working sheep farm in Australia was an amazing opportunity, and we couldn’t have been happier to spend the night in such a beautiful place. It’s also a great base for visiting the Southern Grampians. If you’re considering a stay and it’s available, go for it!

This was our third visit to the Tobacco Kiln, and we’ll be back. It’s a relaxing, enjoyable place to stay, with plenty of privacy, comfortable accommodation, and wonderful hosts.

The place is quiet and tranquil inside, even though it’s on a farm near a road. It feels homely and quaint, and has what you need for a lovely weekend or a break for two. Everything was clean and orderly, with no faults we could find. The hostess was friendly, met us at the accommodation, and gave us a brief introduction to the area, ideas for things to do, and some history of the property. We’ll add it to our list to revisit and recommend to friends 🥰
