There’s very little grass, with lots of gravel and tar, and the rough gravel roads meant our kids couldn’t even ride their scooters. The cabins were old and not especially clean. It felt like an industrial caravan park, which it is, being in an industrial area. We didn’t get the relaxed, natural feel we’ve had at other caravan parks. The pool area was extremely small, overcrowded and poorly thought out. The layout and location seem strange for such a beautiful area as Mudgee. Sorry, but we wouldn’t return.

The family-friendly feel was a big part of what we liked, and the park was great for all six of us. Our ensuite site suited us perfectly. It’s on the edge of town, but the centre is only a couple of minutes away by car or an easy bike ride. We’ll come back next time we’re in Mudgee.

We ended up staying longer than planned while our car was being repaired, and the team made it easy for us. Thanks to Steve, Tracy and Tiana, if I’ve got her name right. The grounds and facilities were kept in excellent condition, and we had buses out front plus a good taxi service into town. A great place to be stuck.

Handy for getting in and out of Mudgee, and a good choice for our weekend. The cabin was comfortable and clean, and the service was really good. It was a busy park, but people were friendly.

We enjoyed chatting with the other guests while making dinner in the camp kitchen, which was in excellent condition. Our side-by-side sites were across the road from it and the amenities block. There’s also a good coffee place about a 240m walk from the main entrance, though its opening hours seemed to vary. When it was open, that was a nice extra. Mudgee BIG4 was excellent.
