We ended up paying twice for the same extra night, within about 10 minutes. I extended our stay and paid for another night through booking.com. The host became snappy and said the extension was only valid if paid directly to the motel, so they brought over an eftpos machine and I paid them too. After that, the admin refused the refund request through booking.com. That payment was non-refundable unless the motel agreed verbally to cancel it, but they didn’t keep that promise. A very expensive night, and I found the motel very untrustworthy.

The whole place had a strange feel to it. The entrance area was untidy and unkempt, and although we’d asked for a king bed and been told yes, we got a queen. The spa was stained, and the air conditioner seemed like it was from the 70s.

I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. Room 7 felt disgusting to walk around in, with dust everywhere, dirt on the walls and discoloured carpet. The towel rails were coming off, and the bed was visibly sinking in the middle and seemed at least 20 years old. I woke up with bits all over me. For a run-down room like that, how can they charge $189 for one night?

Our booking and payment were taken by the manager, but when we arrived there was no manager and no booking in the system. They then refused to refund us. Families are already having a hard enough time, and this person is trying to scam them and ruin their getaway. Avoid at all costs.

The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. Everything else met or beat what I expected. It was a little difficult to get hold of reception when needed.
