We stayed aboard the moored house boat “Little Miss” and loved being right on the water. The views, birds and resident swans were lovely, and the location was fantastic. Staff were friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. The boat had everything we needed. We barbecued on the deck each night, then relaxed with the board games we’d brought.

The sites were easy to manoeuvre a big caravan into, and we were lucky to get a nice grassy one. Everything was well maintained and the service was excellent. As Big 4 members, we even got free stubby holders. The place should be even better once the pool is finished. Thanks, team, we really enjoyed our stay.

The new glamping sites worked really well for our family of four. The tents were clean, warm and thoughtfully set up, even in the cold weather. From the deck we could enjoy the view and watch the kids on the jumping pillow. My four year old thought the cubby bed was the coolest thing. A step stool would help younger children get up onto those high beds. I’m keen to come back when the pool and other works are finished. I almost gave a lower rating so this lovely place might be easier to book for a future stay, but that wouldn’t be fair to the people who clearly put a lot of care into building it.

We had a powered caravan site with generous space and green grass instead of dirt or gravel, which was a great idea. Booking online was simple, and after hours check in was easy too. There’s plenty happening for kids, including a pump track, pool, basketball court area and an inflatable outdoor movie screen. The park and its facilities were very clean and easy to get to. A great stay, highly recommend.

Staff were polite, and our dirty ensuite was cleaned quickly, though there’d been a communication mix up. We also had to go back to get the WiFi password. The camp kitchen looked good as we drove past, but it and the laundry are a long way from our end of the park. We paid extra for an ensuite site, which was just dirt, while cheaper sites had grass. There wasn’t even a mat or concrete slab, so we needed suitable footwear just to use the bathroom or shower. The facilities themselves were well presented, but across the other side of the van, with hoses and power cords creating trip hazards. Bins were welcome, but there were too few. Maybe I expected too much from a Big4, especially as a member.
