Colonial Terrace Motor Inn

On the way home from Sydney, we stopped in Raymond Terrace and were welcomed at the Colonial Terrace Motor Inn. The receptionist was lovely and we had a good laugh. The room was comfortable, the shower was hot, and there are a couple of local places to eat just a short walk away. The local cafe is also close by for breakfast. We’ll definitely stay again when we’re travelling through.

The room itself was satisfactory, but the male janitor was aggressive, rude, and confrontational. He seemed to have little understanding of hospitality, and his behaviour is a real problem for repeat business. Earlier reviews from management make it sound like this has happened before. I’ll look elsewhere next time, specifically because of the janitor bullying women. Very disappointing.

The room had what I needed, including a wardrobe, iron and ironing board, and water in the fridge. The bathroom was clean and usable, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet at night. I appreciated being able to park right outside my room. The place may not impress at first glance, but the service and cleanliness made up for that, and I was very happy with my midweek stay. The restaurant was closed for renovations, so I walked about five minutes down one of the Main Street to a pub for dinner. I’ll stay again.

The room was tidy and clean, but the bed was too soft and bouncy for us. The main parking spaces were ridiculously small, so use the side parking if you want more room. Other people making noise outside their room from 5.30 till 6 am was really annoying, though I know that isn’t the owners’ fault. We stayed for one night.
