Comfort Inn Lake Macquarie

I was back for a three day business trip this year, and it’s been fantastic every time. The location can’t be beaten, the staff are super efficient and friendly, and the rooms are neat and clean. The bed’s comfortable too, and it’s great value for money.

Watching the sunset with a wine or beer by the view was hard to beat. This little gem had clean, tidy rooms with everything we needed, from cutlery and crockery to tea, coffee and a comfy bed. Kevin was awesome, really helpful and accommodating. The motel has an onsite restaurant where breakfast was great, and the local hotel is within walking distance.

The staff were fabulous during our three day stay. I’d booked the wrong room, but the manager was more than happy to move us to a lakeview room for the remaining two nights. My only very small suggestion is to have a toaster, ironing board and iron, and hairdryer in every room. They were easy to get from reception, though.

After a frustrating trip through Newcastle, with roadworks, horrible traffic, ugly streets and shocking wi-fi reception, I arrived at this charming motel in a pretty bad mood. The warmest welcome and a perfectly lovely, very clean room helped me feel better straight away. Then I found the beautiful outdoor area right on the lake, so peaceful and scenic, with loads of natural beauty. There’s a restaurant onsite under separate management, and the motel is close to lots of facilities. Thanks Squid’s Ink, you turned an insane day around in record time!
