The room mix-up wasn’t anyone’s fault. We’d booked a family room but were given a king suite instead, and the manager on duty said there was a sofa bed for our two kids. The trouble started when I asked about parking for our car trailer. She mentioned valet parking or leaving it on the street, but gave no directions or price for Wilson’s parking. I drove around with the trailer for about 20 minutes before finding what I think was the place she meant. There was just one pillow in the room and no sheets for the sofa bed. When I asked at reception, she said the sheets were in the bed. I asked for another pillow for our other daughter and she rolled her eyes, then said, “oh yeah, ok.” Her manner throughout was terrible and unhelpful. I later found out she was Lucy, the manager on duty. I can’t believe someone so rude is working at reception, let alone in charge. The place itself was nice and had great views, but I wouldn’t come back. Nearly $500 felt like an absolute waste. I’d go somewhere with more helpful staff. Lucy should not be in customer service. Maybe unboxing stock out the back of Coles would suit her better.

Waking up and walking along the beach right outside the hotel was one of the best parts of my stay. I was there a few months ago for a friend’s wedding, and the staff were truly wonderful. The bed was roomy and cozy, and I slept really well. The hotel does show its age, but the rooms and bathrooms are much larger than what you get in newer hotels. That made the stay very comfortable.

The food at the restaurant was tasty and beautifully presented, and the location was great. It was also very reasonably priced. The staff made a real effort to include my son, giving him an activity pack while we ate and a plush whale toy that he loved. You can order food and drinks by the pool, too. A brilliant place for families. We’d happily stay again.

The pool and waterslide were a big hit, and the staff were friendly. We had beautiful harbour views, with restaurants an easy walk away. There was a notice about room upgrades, and honestly, the rooms need them. They feel dated, though the bed was so comfortable and the shower pressure was great, despite the old showerhead looking a bit dubious.
