The Star Apartments

We had booked and paid the property for a parking space, but they gave our allocated spot to someone else. We had to spend time calling management to get a refund, and still struggled to find parking during our stay. It caused unnecessary stress. The apartment was extremely dirty when we arrived: stains and marks covered the furniture, the walls and blinds were filthy, and the cleanliness was unacceptable. Worst of all, what looked like bed bugs were in the sheets, which made us uncomfortable and unable to relax properly. The entire stay fell far below expectations. We expected somewhere clean and organised, but dealt with poor hygiene, management problems, and constant inconvenience. Accommodation should meet basic hygiene standards, and this place failed badly. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless cleanliness, customer service, and parking management improve considerably.

Weekend parties at the bar beside my room were extremely loud and carried on late into the night. There were insects everywhere too. The security deposit was only 150 dollars, but when we tried contacting them about it, they didn't respond. We're used to the deposit being non-refundable, but I can't understand why they treat it as a gain for them. That amount isn't worth treating customers so cheaply.

We were there one night, my daughter, my friend, and me. I had to call a couple of times to get all three access codes, even though we were meant to receive them earlier. I understand the security, but it was a pain, and finding our ground-floor room was a bit confusing. When we got in, the room smelled damp. It looked like a leak had been fixed in the main room, but the floor was still wet. The other room was okay. The kitchen area wasn't: the fridge was dirty, the microwave filthy, and lipstick was still on the cups. We had to wash everything before using the utensils. There wasn't any noise, but they really need to clean up and change cleaners.

Reception and customer service were terrible. Once inside, the room at Steel Street Apartments was clean and the stay itself was fine, but the rest was frustrating. The on-site parking spot was tiny, suitable only for a very small car, and nobody told me that beforehand. I paid for two spaces at Honeysuckle Apartments, but no spaces were available, and reception refused to refund me. Communication was disorganised and inconsistent. I had to chase them for basic details, like key collection and access codes. On arrival day, different staff called me several times to ask the same questions. The poor coordination and refusal to fix a simple parking refund left a bad impression.
