The setting was just right, away from the busy area but with the bus or ferry right on the doorstep if needed. Shops and restaurants were within walking distance, and we had lovely river views. The townhouse was gorgeous, spotless and well appointed, with everything we needed. All the rooms had fans and air conditioners, the beds were very comfortable, and the linen and furnishings were beautiful. The pool felt private, and the property was very secure. Managers Ann and John were delightful and helpful. We loved it and will definitely stay again.

We stayed three nights in a nice location, and the accommodation itself was fine, but management could have handled things better. We were given just one toilet roll. When I politely asked the manager for more, they said it was meant to be “self catering” but could give us one roll. I couldn't find that rule on the website or booking information, so I asked where it was written. The response was, “it’s not a big deal, we are happy to give to you.” I would have been happy to follow the rule and bring our own toilet paper if it had been made clear in advance. The way the manager dealt with the question left us uncomfortable. There was no shampoo or shower gel either, only one small bar of hand soap in the bathroom. We had brought our own as usual, but clearer instructions beforehand would have prevented the misunderstanding.

The villas are very nice, in a great spot with rear access to the Noosa River. The only problem was the main bedroom mattress, which felt old and hard. It should be king size as well. Upgrading it would make the place perfect.

This is our second stay, and we’re always happy to come back. The units are spacious and nicely decorated and furnished, with a great outlook over Chaplain park and the river. We like using the back gate to reach the shore walking track for a relaxed breakfast. We’d always stay here when visiting the Sunshine coast.

Both air conditioners in our two-storey, one-bedroom air-conditioned townhouse at Villa Aqua in Noosaville failed. The downstairs one wasn't working when we arrived. I thought it might be the remote and planned to sort it out later, since there was another unit upstairs. But that one didn't work either, and we spent a very clammy night. The next morning I contacted the manager, who called a repairman. We went out for the day expecting it to be fixed. It wasn't. The following morning, I went to the manager's office and found a sign saying he'd gone for the day. It was a very humid period. I have a condition that makes me overheat, and air conditioning is important for keeping me comfortable. After two sleepless nights, I couldn't take another and we went home early. I emailed John to say our stay was shortened for lack of comfort and asked not to be charged for the third night. When I got no reply or refund, I called before writing this. I spoke to John's wife Ann and asked why I wasn't entitled to a refund. She said, “Because you didn’t mention you had a health condition when you booked.” When we arrived, John had told me Ann was a politician. After hearing her, I believe it, or maybe she was an insurance adjuster clutching a straw to weasel out of a claim. What does my health have to do with not supplying air conditioning? I wasn't asking for special equipment, just the basic product I was paying for and had been promised. Villa Aqua is an investment resort, built as cheaply as possible, with Dollar Store utensils and IKEA furniture. It was a bad experience during the stay and afterwards. I run a business and have to make good on my product. Am I wrong to expect the same here? The resort deserves two and a half stars, but I'm giving it one because they were also greedy and conniving.
