Great Southern Hotel Perth

The two women at reception were so friendly and helpful, and the hotel is right in the city centre, so it was easy to get around. Our room was spotless and had a beautiful view. We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back.

We had breakfast at the hotel each morning, and both options were good value: continental for $10 or sunrise for $18. Nalika was a wonderful host, with outstanding service and a smile that lifted the morning. A real asset to the Greatsouthern hotel team. My partner and I stayed for the last four days while attending the HSBC Perth 7s. The hotel layout was nice, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to everyone for having us. We highly recommend staying here in Perth.

Stayed three nights while we explored Perth. The rooms were clean and well cared for, the staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great every morning. A lovely place, fully recommend it.

After we checked in, we came back to our room at around 11:30 pm. Flushing the toilet caused raw sewage to come up through the bathroom floor drain. The smell and obvious hygiene risk meant we left straight away. Staff moved us to another room later that night and gave us two breakfast vouchers, but there was no apology, follow-up, or acknowledgment of how serious this was. The incident was genuinely distressing. I couldn't stomach food afterward and slept very poorly. Breakfast the next morning was very average to below average, and did little to make up for what happened. The hotel looks polished, but that felt like a facade when it came to guest welfare and a serious hygiene issue. The response was inadequate and dismissive. I wouldn't stay here again and would caution others.
