Telegraph Hotel Numurkah

The pub and upstairs rooms have all been recently renovated, with modern fixtures and rooms that are comfortable, clean, and tidy. Good value, friendly and helpful staff, and a good pub vibe with the bistro and bar just downstairs.

I only popped into this hotel, but the lady behind the bar was really lovely and the service was great. The food was good too. Definitely worth a visit 🙂

The Pumpkin & Feta Aranchini Balls, suggested by the barmaid, were a great start. They may look small as an entree, but they're filling. I had Buzz's Chicken Breast, beautifully cooked, lightly grilled and browned outside, moist in the middle, with a lovely sauce, seasonal veg, and real mashed potato, not Deb mash. Check the seasoning before you eat, the chef has a great palate for it. Mum had the Seafood Platter (Basket), with barely any batter, no greasiness, and perfectly crumbed king prawns. Prices felt fair for the portion sizes, and service was prompt and friendly. The barmaid was courteous, gave us a good recommendation, and suggested the right time to book. We were holidaying at Lakeside Resort and supporting the local businesses that support it, so we booked in at the Telegraph Hotel for 5:30 on Monday to get the 10% discount after looking at the menu. The Aranchini Balls are AMAZING. Next time we stay, we'll visit The Telegraph a few times, even for lunch, as they have great lunch specials.

The rooms were comfortable, and the bartenders were friendly and happy to chat when they weren't too busy. They also keep a close eye on empty glasses. The food is excellent, a bit pricey but worth it, and they do a good Murray river pale ale.
