Our week in the Kimberley was full of lovely moments, from sunrise views out of the immaculate rooms to stargazing on our private deck. Jake and Hannah greeted us like family, with champagne and cool towels, and the whole team made sure everything felt easy and suited to us. The front-of-house staff were warm and efficient, the chefs served generous, delicious meals with excellent wines, and the spa was a relaxing way to unwind. Out on the tours, the guides’ knowledge brought the region to life. We saw spectacular gorges, vibrant waterfalls and Indigenous art, went fishing and on river adventures, drove along the beach at sunset, and even took a thrilling helicopter flight. Thank you, Hannah and Jake, for welcoming us and giving us the chance to relax, rejuvenate and reset. Please pass our gratitude on to your team.

We stayed last year with two other couples, and all of us thought it was fabulous. Everything felt five star, and the lodge’s location way up at the top end was just amazing. We hope Cyclone FINA doesn’t cause any damage. Fingers crossed.

The tours were fun, really interesting and well coordinated. The guides know so much about the land’s history, plants, wildlife and Aboriginal rock art, and they made sure everyone was having a good time. The optional helicopter trip is a must for the views alone. You see places that are hard to reach from the ground, and from above the landscape looks completely different. The pilot landed us in incredible spots where we could swim in waterholes and see rock art few people have ever seen. Back at the lodge, the bungalows were beautiful, and the shared area was a great place to enjoy degustation and wine pairing meals, along with whatever other food or drinks you wanted. Every meal was absolutely beautiful. The staff, from managers to housekeeping, were some of the happiest, friendliest and most accommodating people you could meet. Even the unbelievable chefs came out to mingle with guests. The sunrises were stunning, and so were the sunsets, whether we were out on a tour, landing on a mountain in the chopper, or back at the lodge’s sunset viewpoint. They were all lovely with good company, nibbles and drinks. Staying in such a remote part of the world, surrounded by that scenery, was a truly amazing experience. The area feels unique and unrivalled in Australia, maybe even the world. The guests were all like-minded travellers, so it was fun to mingle. Anyone who loves the outdoors and a bit of adventure should stay at Berkeley River Lodge. Everyone associated with the Berkeley is doing Australian tourism proud, and the trip was worth every cent.

Remote, isolated, and awesome. If you want to get away from city life and soak up the beauty of the Kimberley, I can't recommend BRL enough. The staff were fantastic, and special thanks to Rhett and Laura for their wonderful tours. I hope I can come back one day.

We spent a week at this amazing lodge, and the location is a very special part of the world. The service and food were excellent, and we loved the activities, from hiking to the sunset four-wheel-drive trip. Thanks for taking such good care of us. Kind regards, Janine & Graham Brittingham
