Ambassador Orange Hotel

We stayed one night. The room was large for a motel like this, and the location was great. There’s a small pool, and the room had a working toaster and kettle. The fridge was really noisy, and the drinks inside weren’t free. We also paid for breakfast in the morning. Pretty good.

This wasn’t what I expected from Best Western. There was mold in the showers, the window screens were broken, the towel was dirty, and the shampoo and body wash were the same thing in different bottles. The receptionists’ colorful outfits and short dresses or tight shirts didn’t feel respectful to guests. You could hear the chefs yelling at each other in the kitchen.

The rooms looked clean, fresh and nice, but they were too cramped for us to spend the night comfortably because management gave us less than we’d paid for. We booked two Executive rooms through booking.com for the Labour Day weekend at a high price. The listing clearly promised each room would have one double bed and one large double bed, for $279.30. Instead, on arrival, we were given Deluxe rooms with one double and one single bed, which are definitely lower priced. Reception said booking.com had displayed it incorrectly when we asked. They didn’t provide what we were charged for. I don’t recommend this motel. They’re dishonest.

The family room was spacious, clean and reasonably priced. The pool looked good, and there’s a service station plus a few fast food options within walking distance. But the lobby and dining area had a funky smell that made me think twice about breakfast.
