Moonraker Motor Inn

The room was in very poor shape: stained, smelly carpet, damaged walls, and a dated feel. The bed was far too springy, and I thought the price was high for the area. At the desk, I was told we’d been upgraded, which made me wonder whether the room I’d booked online was unsafe to sleep in. It felt like a tactic for late arrivals, when people have driven a lot of kilometres and are leaving early. We’ve stayed in Parkes before, and this was a terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend it or return.

After a long day on the road, it was a good place to rest. The motel was quiet and very clean, and having a restaurant with good meals was a welcome bonus.

There’s plenty of open space behind the motor inn where dogs can run around. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, and the friendly staff made check-in and checkout really easy.

We’ve stayed here before, and it’s our usual stop when we’re passing through because the location works well. The restaurant is another plus, with tasty meals at very reasonable prices.
