I wasn’t sure what to expect, since some of those old houses aren’t up to modern standards, and my wife has a keen eye for quality. But it felt comfortable and relaxed here, and I enjoyed walking around the property. At night, the back pool area is special with the outside lights on and stars out. The upstairs staircase is pretty spooky late at night, and the library upstairs feels like a museum, with a place to chill or enjoy the view from the veranda. We’ll be back.

I’m blown away by The Buchanan. It’s been restored and decorated beautifully, and feels like stepping back to another era. Every room has a story that leaves you wanting to hear more. I’d give it more than five stars if Google allowed it.

I stayed in the executive suite, which was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities, including a kitchen and piano. The place is absolutely exquisite. The Buchanan is definitely a hidden gem, and I’d highly recommend staying here!
