Court Street Motel

I stayed three nights for work. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the shower pressure great, and rooms are serviced daily. It’s right in the centre of town, with places to eat within walking distance. Other guests were quiet at night, which helped when I needed a good sleep away from home. The parking lot looked a little confusing at first because of the fences, but it was straightforward to drive in and out and park. There’s no reception on site, so I got a text on the morning I arrived with the check-in details. Update from June 2025: I left written feedback in the room that the kettle was dirty, as if someone had boiled milk in it or it had salt or calcium deposits from the town water. When I stayed in room 10 again four weeks later, it was still the same kettle.

A ground-floor twin room that feels light and bright, with a large floor-to-ceiling window and glass sliding door looking over the lawn and Court Street. There are sheer and thick sliding curtains, so you can get privacy and darkness. Each room has a chair outside the sliding door, and kids can play out there. It doesn’t feel as cramped as most 3-star motels. The motel is quiet, clean, and has very comfortable beds and pillows. The TV is large and easy to use, and there’s a modern Mitsubishi Heavy Industries split-system air con. Shops and everything else are walkable, with the main street just a block away. Despite the location, it’s nice and quiet. Reception seems to have been demolished some time ago, possibly due to a fire, so all communication with reception is by phone. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it to weary travellers.

The rooms are old but clean, though the bleach smell is very strong. Outside is noisy overnight, and parking is haphazard. The advertising is misleading: there’s no reception or restaurant, apparently since they burned down in 2023. All that’s there is a demolition site. It’s not the cheapest motel in town, but you get what you pay for.

One of the better value places to stay in Parkes, in my opinion. The rooms are good quality for a budget price and easy to reach from any direction. There’s a large TV, small kitchenette, microwave, soft bed, fantastic shower and internet access. Parking is available. There’s no reception, and you’re charged at the end of your stay.
