We’ve stayed here twice already, and both times it felt like the perfect romantic getaway. The setting is stunning, the rooms are wow, and the staff are lovely and ready to help with whatever you need. There are heaps of beautiful birds around, too, and seeing two tree kangaroos was a real treat. Definitely worth booking.

We had a really enjoyable couple of nights here, and even spotted two tree kangaroos from our room. The cabins are lovely, the views and surroundings are great, and the rooms are very well appointed. Breakfast supplies were generous and good quality. We didn’t notice much of the negativity mentioned by other guests, though for the hefty rate there are some things that need attention. A few practical details let the place down. The balcony light didn’t work, the fireplace was hard to get going, as if the wood and matches were damp, and there was rat, mouse, possum or bat droppings around the barbecue that should be cleaned up. The TV was tiny, low down, hard to find, and wouldn’t pick up any channels or inputs, so it felt pointless. The bathroom mirror is over the toilet, which means you have to stand back where it’s too low or crouch over the toilet to use it. I usually avoid places that don’t allow children, even when travelling as a couple, because sometimes we’d like to share nice places with our daughter. Here I don’t really see the reason for the rule. The separate cabins aren’t in view of each other and there are no shared facilities where children might bother other guests. They’re also big enough that bringing a child could be a nice option. It seems a shame to turn away that part of the potential guests. Those annoyances take a little away from the lovely rooms and setting, but we still thought the stay deserved five stars. If they start allowing children, we might come back.

We didn’t want to leave the treehouse. It was peaceful, with a balcony that was lovely for sitting in the morning and listening to the birds. The location is handy too, right in the centre of things and only a short drive to get around. Inside, it felt cosy but still spacious, with nice furnishings, a huge comfy bed, and a fireplace we loved. The jacuzzi had an amazing view, and the welcome scones with jam and cream were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we’re looking forward to coming back. Five stars all round.

We planned to spend our second week in Cairns, but after Mount Quincan that felt like a huge step down. Luckily there was still room, so we booked the rest of our stay there too. The staff were amazing, and the location is hard to beat. The tree house was just right for a couples retreat, especially the fireplace beside the bed and the jacuzzi, which had plenty of room for two. Leaving was the hardest part. Thanks to everyone at Mount Quincan for making our honeymoon so special.

They managed to fit us in even though we were only stopping by for one night. We were greeted with lovely arrival drinks and got great help. We chose the dinner package, and the steak and prawns cooked up a treat on the weber BBQ on the deck, as long as you know your way around a barbecue. Breakfast was included and there was plenty for two, plus warm pumpkin bread and scones. The comfy bed, views, fireplace, and wooden floorboards made the short stay a delight. They even provide booties for your feet. Definitely recommend.
