Ting, thanks for such a lovely stay. You were warm, helpful and so welcoming. I'd recommend staying here when visiting Penguin, or even Devonport since it's not too far away.

I've stayed twice over four years and would happily come back again. Ting is a lovely hostess who makes guests feel welcome, and her communication before and during the stays was second to none. The spacious, clean, modern spa suite was very reasonably priced.

I arrived quite late and left early every morning, but the host accused me of smoking even though I've never smoked. It made for the most uncomfortable stay I've ever had. So much for an enjoyable birthday getaway, Ting. The hospitality felt very unwelcoming. The listing should also say that the accommodation isn't accessible for people with mobility impairments.

We were in Penguin for work with our dog, and had a lovely stay at Madsen retreat. The rooms were beautiful, clean and had great wifi, with a great view from a perfect spot in town. Ting was so kind and thoughtful, going out of her way several times to make things work for us. She even let us switch rooms when it suited us, though it meant extra work for her. Thanks, Ting, we'll definitely be back.

My husband liked the host and left a very positive review on Expedia after our stay in Feb 2024, but I didn't feel welcome. I'd never stayed in bed and breakfast style accommodation before, and this experience has made me stick to booking hotels.
