Swagman Chalet

The rooms are a bit small, but the lounge is huge and a lovely place to hang out. John and Silke are so lovely and accommodating. Breakfast and a three-course dinner were included each day, and the food was always delicious. Fantastic place to stay. I’d definitely come back!

The food was a close second to the staff. I have strict dietary needs because of allergies, and they made gorgeous three-course dinners that were dairy and gluten free, plus there was lots of choice at breakfast. My partner said their lasagna was the best he’d ever had, which is high praise from him. The staff also handled our special requests, including something my partner had planned for our anniversary. We were first timers at skiing, and Swagmans Chalet helped us figure out the confusing ski tube and lift tickets before we even reached the slopes. The staff were friendly and eager to help, and picked us up promptly when we arrived before taking us to our room. The rooms were lovely, warm and well kept. We highly recommend the place. The property is right in the heart of Perisher Valley. The room was immaculate, and the shared areas were cosy, comfortable and entertaining. We enjoyed the ride to the hotel with John in his snow tank and snowmobile. John and Silky were really helpful, driving us back and forth several times between the property and the Perisher railway/pickup point. We booked dinner during our stay, and breakfast was included. The food was really good and the service excellent.

Thanks to everyone working at the swagman chalet. The atmosphere and service were better than I expected, and the Chalet managers are humble and great to get along with. Pickups and drop-offs at the lifts were never a problem, which was great to know. Thanks, Silke and John, don’t change a thing 👍
