Burswood Lodge Apartments

The room was poorly maintained, with cheap fittings, no pillow slips when we arrived, and air conditioning that was both noisy and ineffective. We had booked for two weeks but didn’t want or need to stay that long. When we said we were leaving early, they asked for the keys and we handed them back. We still haven’t received a refund for the unused nights. If we’d known there’d be no refund, we would have kept the keys until the original booking ended. Don’t stay here!

The health and safety concerns are hard to ignore, and I don’t know how this place is still operating. The other reviews describe it well, so I won’t repeat them. Conditions are very poor. Please stay somewhere else.

The place used to be very good, but not now. Such a shame. The unit had a lot going for it: plenty of space and parking, a large fridge with a decent freezer, a near-new full-size gas stove, and working air conditioning. The oven was clean, and new curtains were hung while we were there, though the blinds were partly falling down. But it wasn’t clean overall, and there was no dishwashing liquid or sponge. The towel rail was almost detached at one end, and the shower curtain was so short that water flooded the bathroom floor. The microwave had no suitable cooking containers, and the grill came with only a dirty quarter-size tray. There were no oven dishes or matches for lighting the gas burners. Only one of the four kitchen drawers had a handle. The wardrobe was just a few coat hooks screwed to the wall, nothing like the photos.

The staff were rude on day one, but on the second day they were accommodating and incredibly helpful. The room itself was clean, though not very appealing, and it was hard to find power outlets. My grandma ended up sleeping on the lounge room floor because the fold-out bed was horrible. The kitchen appliances didn’t look good and the stove poured out gas. The bathroom had a shower, one basin, and a laundry basin. I wouldn’t want to stay for long, but it would do for a one-night stopover.
