The Ibis Hotel has become our regular choice whenever we stay in Perth. It's right in the middle of shops, restaurants, clubs and bars, and the recent full makeover has given it a modern feel. The rooms are lovely, and the staff are friendly and efficient. There's good food at the restaurant, plus a bar for a drink or two. Highly recommend staying here.

They even found a great way to store our bikes securely, which we really appreciated. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and enjoyable food. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. Highly recommended.

We booked three nights in the larger room, with a separate bedroom, bathroom, lounge and kitchen. It was spacious, neat and clean, and useful for some self-catering, though it could have used a dishcloth. The TV worked well, and Chromecast let us watch our own BritBox from an iPhone. We also used the laundry, $5 for the washing machine and another $5 for the dryer. Downstairs, the restaurant was great. We had a few beers out on the sidewalk and enjoyed the atmosphere. The central location of iBis Perth on Murray Street suited us perfectly. We could walk to the train station and Busport through the grand underground walkway, take the train to Fremantle for the Market and streets, or use the free CAT bus lines around the city. Murray and Hay street malls and George Terrace were a short walk away. We also walked to Hertz Murray Street to pick up our rental car, and parking at the Wilsons facility on the next street was convenient. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. Thank you. I've been an ALL / Accor member for about 20 years and have stayed at Accor hotels around the world.

As of 3 Jan 2026, the room had a reasonably powerful hairdryer, kettle, mini fridge, shampoo and body wash but no conditioner, plus an iron and ironing board. There's no safe. Towels were changed daily, and service was good. The train station is a reasonably short walk away, with amenities in the area. The room felt a bit small to me, and the facilities weren't mind blowing, but all in all it was okay. One tip: don't bring an oversized power adapter, as it can get in the way of the switch and sometimes turn it off if pushed all the way in.

The bathroom door was the biggest concern during my one-night stay at ibis Perth. After showering, I couldn’t get it open because the handle had jammed, even though I hadn’t locked it. I had my phone with me, thankfully, but there’s no phone or emergency facility in the bathroom. Without my mobile, I could have been stuck there for who knows how long. Reception sent someone quickly. He got me out, then tested the door himself and couldn’t open it either. I had to turn the lock from outside with a spoon to let him out. He apologised and said, “all the doors in the hotel are like that.” I couldn’t tell if he meant they were all old or might all get stuck, but either way that was worrying. Check-in had been smooth and the room was tidy. Still, this is a serious safety problem, especially for an older guest, a child, or anyone without a phone. I wasn’t offered another room or compensation and had to stay there that night. The staff member apologised twice, which I appreciate, but I feel this should have been treated much more seriously. I’m sharing what happened so other guests can decide if this level of safety and service is acceptable to them.
