We’ve dropped in for drinks on a few afternoons and evenings, and it’s always been good. On Saturday we shared the lamb rump meal for two, with tender, delicious lamb and fresh sides: brocolini, coleslaw, pickles, roast potatoes and croquettes. A couple of bottles of South West Chardonnay went well with it. The bar had great music and atmosphere while we watched the AFL. The TV was on mute, which was fine since I listened to the radio on my phone. I’m a big AFL fan, but not everyone is, and the screens are still nice and large. Service has been great every time.

The Local Hotel came up when we needed somewhere for one night, and I’m glad we found it. The bed was really comfortable, and the room was spacious, clean and tidy. Staff were welcoming and always had a smile. The location is excellent too. Sharing a bathroom was a little inconvenient, but the lower price takes that into account. I’d stay again, even if I only came back for a beer at the bar.

We had a lovely lunch, and the comfortable seating area with its nice music made it even better. My wife’s Peruvian chicken was tasty and a good size, and my bone burger came with a generous portion and nice chips. Everything arrived quickly. Thanks, chef!

The staff are friendly and easygoing, and orders arrive without a long wait. It’s never felt overcrowded when I’ve been there. I’ve had around 20 steak sandwiches here, and every one has been cooked just right. The food and presentation are 10/10. Give the place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

The fast bar service was the one good part, and they had the big bash on. The food was appalling. My steak sandwich and the tuna from the mains menu took about 30 minutes, and both were badly overcooked. The tuna was tough and bland. The sandwich bread, steak and potatoes were overdone too, with only the coleslaw escaping being burnt. We went because other places nearby had no availability, but I won’t dine here again.
