Mounts Bay Stay 2 Bedroom Apt - Kings Park - Free Parking

The Airbnb photos were misleading and really disappointing. I booked apartment 208 through Airbnb and will probably never use it again. Before approving the booking, Annette asked why I wanted to stay. I explained I’d flown from Qld to Perth because my Mum was in the ICU. My current accommodation was booked out, and I needed somewhere in the city near the hospital. I told Annette I slept at the hospital and would use the apartment to unwind, shower and do washing. After two weeks sleeping in a recliner, I needed a nap in the single bed I’d asked to have included. My cousin was staying with me too and slept at the apartment for a week. When I pulled back the covers, the bed was filthy, with hair and bugs underneath. I was exhausted and it was a few days before Christmas, so I couldn’t deal with it then. I hadn’t paid close attention to the apartment’s cleanliness during the two weeks until that moment, but once I looked properly, it was filthy: - The toilet and bathroom vent didn’t work and was caked with dust. - One bathroom light was out, and under its cover was dirty. - The globes over the mirror were dirty too. - The air conditioner leaked onto the carpet and rug in the main bedroom. - There was hair and bugs in the single bed. - The main entry and exit door hinge was packed with dust, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. If you’re offered apartment 208, take your money somewhere else. Annette, the Airbnb host, is dirty and a rip-off.

The rooms felt spacious, homely and comfortable, and the staff were some of the loveliest I’ve dealt with in a long time. They went out of their way to handle our breakfast dietary requirements and help us make the most of the day before our flight so we could explore the city. I’d highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed our stay, but the building had a couple of problems. The hallway smelled like rotten eggs. We also had an altercation with a male front desk staff member who refused to help us get access to the lift after we’d returned our key.

The location was the only part I found acceptable. I was upgraded at check-in, but that didn’t make up for a poor stay, and I wouldn’t return or recommend the property. The room was in bad shape, with a very dirty carpet and outdated furnishings. At least the bed was clean. Air conditioning was only in the living room, while both bedrooms had fans and stayed hot all night and into the next morning. Someone had also left socks from a previous guest in the dryer. Parking was badly managed. The space assigned to me already had someone else’s things in it, and when I came back later, someone had taken my spot. I reported it, but a staff member questioned whether I’d parked in the wrong place and said there was nothing they could do. They only reassigned me a space after I insisted.
